One down, Three to go!

Just finished my first of four events for JFS – turning a parking garage into a formal event space for our major donors. It was definitely a bit of a challenge – EVERYTHING had to be brought in, heating, lighting, food service – the works. The temporary wall may or may have not become a sail at some point and there may or may not have been full on puddles under the tables and chairs BUT other than that, it was a success!

Project Pinterest

As a self described Pinterest Junkie, I try and be sure to not only view all of the lovely/cool/weird/tasty/inspiring things that I come across but also to create/bake/buy/wear/style/eat them too. What’s the good in having all of those neat things pinned if you aren’t going to do anything with them?

My latest pin projects (above) included creating wall art using ticket stubs that the BF and I had seen together; it was like a walk down memory lane! I probably could have made 3 or 4 of these with the amount of shows we’ve seen! I handpicked the ‘best of the best’ including the Sonics ticket the night he told me he loved me. Yes, a true romantic at heart – nothing says I love you more than the NBA šŸ™‚ If you know our household, you know just how true this is.

I also tried out a new recipe and was glad to come across this festive one a few weeks back. I can’t help but get into that holiday spirit – I don’t care what holiday it is! It’s an almond/pistachio bunt cake with a bit of extra green food coloring to make it extra festive. And let me tell you, it was extra good! Moist and sugary, my favorite! Not trusting myself to have it at home (it was a post workout treat last night – whoops), I brought it to work today to let my work peeps enjoy! Here’s the recipe:

Now that I think about it, I also used Pinterest to figure out my latest haircut, which led me to chopping off 6 inches. Gawd, I love this site. Officially obsessed.

Photo-A-Day Challenge (Fail.)

1. My view today.

2. Words.

11. What makes you happy.

12. Inside your closet.

13. Blue.

15. Phone.

18. Drink. (I was trying to be healthy and it was really, really gross.)

23. Shoes.

27. Something I ate.

Here are my highlights of the February Photo-A-Day Challenge. As much as I tried, I could not get each day. OK, so maybe some days I didn’t even try. Whatever. It was fun when I had time and remembered to do it.

Connected.

A Kindle 4 – my latest purchase. Figured I did not need to splurge on the Kindle Fire – that would be overkill šŸ™‚ Now I can surf the web on my mac book pro, text peeps on my iphone, rock out to my ipod and all while reading dirty romance novels on my Kindle. To be so connected……I don’t know if this is a good thing or not……..I never thought I would be one of ‘those’ people, but it looks like I am now. Shoot.

Photo bananza!

My new iphone has turned me into a total photography nut. I’ve always liked to take pictures but so few ever came out lookin fly and forget learning photoshop….ugh. In comes Instagram and Camera+ two of my new fav photo programs on my phone. I simply take a picture then jazz it all up with a few swipes of my finger. I’m obsessed. Seriously obsessed. These programs can take a plain, boring pic and make it look like a million bucks. But what to do with all of these totally awesome pics I ask myself? Well, I’ve found my answer (see links below). Picture books, magnets, oh my! Now I’ve gotten get really serious in my picture taking so I can create an entire album!
