Turkey tag-a-long!

Bought my first turkey this week at Top Foods. They had a sale on turkeys for .49/lb. if you spent $25 at the store. Not sure what a good deal is on these gobblers, but it seemed like one to me! Picked up a nice, managable 14 pounder to cook up on Sunday while the BF watches football ALL DAY LONG. I’ve cooked many things in my lifetime, but never a turkey. Figured 29 going on 30 would be a good time to start. Plus, I’ve got holiday on the brain – my faux white christmas tree was delivered today – can’t wait to decorate that baby!

(And yes, I put my turkey on the floor for this shot. It was too hard to hold the turkey, hold the camera AND direct Stella with some doggie cookies! Whatever.)

All Hallows

Spent last night at our annual All Hallows Eve party at Chateau Ste. Michelle. I was a decorating committee of one and it took me two days to spookify the place. We had a creepy candy bar (my pride and joy!) as well as a killer appetizer buffet, dancing and a DJ. It was a big change from previous years parties where we did 6 course served dinners, but I think guests really enjoyed themselves. Wish I could have captured more because it was so freakin’ cool! Oh well, that’s what happens when you work!

That’s a wrap on the wreath.

Finally finished my first yarm wreath over the weekend and promptly gave it to my Mom – I thought it would be a nice fall gift! It was funny giving her my art project. I felt like I was back in elementary school!

I didn’t like the look of the large wreath alone. It was too skinny looking so I bought the smaller one and put them together with some floral pins. I like how it looks more bulked up and there’s way more room for flowers and other bits of decoration. On to the next one!

Spook-tacular!

Getting into the Halloween spirit this week with my first attempt at the Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips. Been wanting to try these out for a while now and I came across these babies (on sale for $5.99!) and I had to try them. A bit nerve racking at first, but I got the hang of it after a few and they turned out pretty darn good if I do say so myself! I’ve had them on for a few days now and have had tons of compliments! They’ve held up well too – I’ve washed dishes with them and have hit up the gym too. Will definately be trying these again!
