Me and my two BFFs!

Just a few shots from our engagement/housewarming party over the weekend! My plan was to take all sorts of pictures but I failed on that front. Figured it was more important to visit with guests vs. taking their pictures. I did manage these few shots in between the two parties. Enjoy!

Thanks all!

Oh man, such a good day yesterday! TWO engagement parties – family in the afternoon and friends at night. So great to see everyone and show off our new home. I think I talked for 12 hours straight! Trying to polish off the keg and get a lil R & R today. Party problems, right?
Thanks to everyone that came out – we really appreciate your support during this special time. A special thanks to my sis who coordinated the fab food and decor and my fam for pitching in too. I think we’ll be eating leftovers for days! Pics coming soon of the party….until then, save the date šŸ™‚

Love.

I love you for all that you are,
All you have been,
And all that you are yet to be.
So the BF and I have been dating for 7 years, yes, that’s 7 years people! Not 7 months, not 7 weeks, 7 YEARS. Though if I think back on our time together, it really doesn’t feel that long – I take that as a sign that we were meant to be šŸ™‚ Last Saturday evening, he sweetly got down on one knee after dinner on Alki Beach and asked me to marry him with THE MOST gorg ring. Swoon. I must say, I’m the Queen of Patience, but he was worth the wait. (and of course, I said yes! among lots of tears….)
We began dating after he graduated from college. He was a bit wary of me at first, but I was relentless and soon we were exclusive. We spend a good part of our mid and late twenties together – him eventually starting his own business, me buying a condo, a scary/mysterious dog illness, trips to Mexico, trips to Panama, Sonics games, endless concerts, most recently buying a new home in Seattle……so many lovely, lovely memories with this man.
He’s the smartest, handsomest, most hardworking and passionate person I know. Did I also mention that he grows the most redonk beard in the 206 area code? Men are seriously jealous of his facial hair! I am beyond exciting to share this next chapter with him- celebrating our love, making new memories and one day building a family together.
Stay tuned for our fall 2014 wedding here in good ole Seatown!

85 and fly!

We celebrated my Grandma’s 85th birthday over the weekend with an afternoon tea party followed by a BBQ rib dinner. My grandma is a very special person AND she is our last living grandparent so we’re hanging onto her pretty tight! I’ve had 31 years of being in her presence, creating so many wonderful memories, and I’m very grateful for that!

As a child, I think I probably spent almost every weekend at my grandparent’s home on Beacon Hill. My Mom always talked about how my Grandpa would drive his truck over on a Friday to pick me up for the weekend. I would come back spoiled, full of doughnuts and calling my Mom “Grandma” (which she didn’t like very much.)

My Grandma taught me how to shop (always leave the bags in the car so Grandpa doesn’t see them), float in the hot tub and beachcomb. She makes a mean butter sandwich, cans THE BEST raspberry jam and can talk about the weather like no one else. She is kind, warm, generous and sassy – just how grandmas should be.

Happiest of birthdays to you!
 XXOO
