Sept. Birchbox

Birchbox
Ugh, late in posting this but I just didn’t see anything super inspiring in my Birchbox shipment this past month. I guess it can’t be a slam dunk every month – NBD. I have been curious about Madewell so I may have to do a bit of online shopping with this discount card (note: the coupon was only for the month of Sept. – bummer.). Other than that, it was kind of a yawn for me. Fingers crossed for a better box this coming month!

Birchbox baby!

I’m still getting my monthy Birchbox shipment and this month’s is a goodie! So many products to try out -love it! So far, I’ve tried the Juicy perfume and Whipped lotion (both smell like candy…is that a good or bad thing??) and the Pillow Soft Curl Cream (smells like a grandma but works well!).

I’m getting a nice little collection of beauty swag going, which is perfect for travelling. Thank goodness we’re headed to Texas in a month so I can really put these products to work! I’ve been hanging on to these cat eye’s eyeliner stickers that will be sa-weet for rocking out at Austin City Limits.

Oh man, I have to say this is the best one yet (it also helps when you get retweeted by ModCloth – thanks!!!) Self-tanner, a cool face masque AND this sassy retro headband courtesy of ModCloth?! I’m in heaven. There’s also some sunscreen – perfect for traveling and some lip and cheek tint which didn’t tint my lips very well. I haven’t given up though…..we’ll see how it works on my face……

I’m excited to co-host one of my best friend’s baby showers this weekend. I can’t wait to show you all of the fun DIY creations I have up my sleeve. Pinterest has been a saint, per usual, guiding me through recipes and decor for our mod, ‘not too baby’ baby shower. This is baby shower No. 3 for this lucky gal so we’ve got to finish it off right! Pics and a play by play to come!

April Birch Box

Just received my April Birch Box shipment in the mail last week. Man, I love getting mail, especially when it has fun things like this in it! So far I’ve tried the scrub and the organic lipstick. The scrub smelled super yummy but there was barely enough to scrub an arm – boo. The lipstick is the perfect travel size and is a cool redish-orange color. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long and I’m always re-applying. The rest of the items I’m saving for our trip to Mexico. Less than a month and counting!

I love getting fun things in the mail and I also love me a good beauty product so when I found out about Birchbox I was all game! I immediately signed up and patiently waited to get accepted (side note: what is it these day about web sites making you wait to join? not a fan.) I finally got the email saying i was ‘in’ about two weeks later and two weeks after that, I got my first shipment.

For those of you not in the know, Birchbox sends you a box of beauty and lifestyle samples once per month for $10, which includes the shipping fee. They wrap it up all cute like for you too! You then can buy full sizes of whatever you like through their web site for a discount. Highlights of this past month’s shipment included hair oil, which I had always wanted to try and really liked and these stick on eyeliners. Haven’t had an occasion to rock those yet, but I think they are going to be fierce! Although every item might not be a hit, some will make for great travel beauty supplies. I can’t wait to see what next month brings!
