The graduate.

My little sister is just about to graduate from UW’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy program!!! I’m one uber proud big sis, let me tell yah! She’s worked her butt off these past three years – one unpaid internship after another – and I can’t wait for her to get out into the real world (and buy me a lunch now and then!)

Since our Dad was going to be in Alaska for the actual graduation ceremony, we though it would be nice to throw her a pre-graduation party so that he could join in on the festivities. You see, the entire fam is just a tad bit excited about this occasion šŸ™‚ My Mom and I went with a PT theme – walkers, biology text books and stretching bands made up the decorations and we went with a purple and gold color scheme to rep her school. A few ponies here and there rounded out the party look! I bit random, I know, but that’s our Liz.

We thought an open house made the most sense and invited all of our fav friends and family members to celebrate with us. Per the usual Sugiura spread, we had lots of smoked salmon, sushi and pot stickers not to mention the most delish coconut cake from Dessert Works. Drool. Overall, it was a really great afternoon spent with amazing people. Thanks to all who came out to celebrate!

Our Mom is so clever šŸ™‚

P + D Wedding!

Ohhhhhhh! Let the wedding season commence! Our dear friends Pat and Danielle got hitched over the weekend at a lovely little art gallery in South Lake Union. Thought I would share a few pics from the fab day! As I was sitting there watching them exchange their vows, it really hit me hard that this will be us in just six short months. Wow. Time does fly. Congrats you two!!! Enjoy the DR!

Oh! Chocolate.

Oh how the days have flown by! Thought I would share a few pics from my gal pal’s bachelorette party a few weeks back, which had both a day time and evening activity. Obvi, I’m only going to share the daytime pics – girl code yah know šŸ˜‰

We met up at Oh! Chocolate in Madison Park and had a 3 hour chocolate dipping class which included a tasting AND the creation of our own treats. Can you say dipped potato chips? Holler! Wine flowed, strawberries were dipped, chocolate was consumed….man, it was a pretty tasty afternoon. They do offer these classes throughout the year so keep them in mind for a unique gift or outing!

A lil chocolate tasting before it got messy!

Oh hi chocolate blob!

The creations. Yum.

Greens.

Finally! Some of my seeds are starting to pop up! The first round of planting was a bit mixed as far as sprouting went. The lettuce, carrots and peas did just fine but my zucchini, squash, broccoli, kale and cauliflower did not. I’m planting the second round this week and hopefully this lil heat wave will do the trick. For back up, I’ve planted another round of the newly dubbed “more difficult” seeds in my mini greenhouse. If that doesn’t do the trick, I don’t know what will. Oh to be a gardener in the PNW……sigh.

Slow ride.

Ā

Took the ole bike for a spin around the neighborhood a few weekends ago. It was an experience to say the least – the front breaks didn’t work and the gear chain thingy fully fell off twice while I was struggling up Cloverdale Street’s mean hill. I suspect I might need a tune up BUT it was great to get outside and hit the bike trail. I see more of these rides in my future!
