Happy Shark Week!

Oh man, my favorite week of the year – Shark Week on the Discovery Channel! Chomp, chomp. Spent three hours affixed to the TV last night watching them jump, swim and attack various things.

Shark Week has always been cool, but being able to see the action in HD has made my viewing experience a million times better! Those teeth, that fin…..I’m hooked. They also had these cool new cameras which gave you an up close and personal view of the inside of their mouths! Rows and rows of teeth, so cool!

Needless to say, I will not be swimming in the ocean any time soon. Thank god Panama does not have Great Whites, though I heard the barracudas are pretty feisty down there.

Just noticed my profile picture, how fitting!

Block Parties and Bridal Showers

Just finished off a weekend of craziness with the Captiol Hill Block Party Friday and Saturday nights and Penny’s Bridal Shower on Sunday afternoon. After working 20 days straight, I was ready to let loose – could have used a few days worth of sleep prior to hittin’ the streets of Capitol Hill, but what can you do? Saw MGMT, Atmosphere, Holy Fuck and Champange, Champange…..drank, danced, rocked the onesie…..good times, though I wish I could have sat down a bit. Man, I’m getting old. The Sonicsgate guys were out in full force and networked the beer garden shamelessly.

Then it was time to switch gears for the bridal shower. Hosted 20 or so of Penny’s close friends and family for a risque bridal shower. The girl walked away with an entire new intimate wardrobe – so jealous! The wedding festivities are really starting to kick into gear! Can’t wait!

Tickets are booked!

Just bought our tickets to Panama for our friends Aaaron and Laura’s tropical, destination wedding – such a great excuse to head down south this fall! We’ll spend a few days in Panama City then will high tail it to the Carribean side for a few days and will end the trip with 4 days of wedding festivities at an eco resort called Al Natural. The wedding party will take up the entire resort plus the one next door so we’ll have the place to ourselves! Looking forward to snorkling, fishing and sun! And yes, these are actual pictures of the resort – open air bungalows right on the white, sandy beach! Pure relaxation! Can’t wait to post my own pics…..

M’s Game

Hit up the M’s game last night, thanks to Penny and her AWESOME seats – front row baby! Celebrated my old roomie’s b-day on the big screen and finally got the Yankees coach to give her a ball. Boo’ed A-Rod, harassed Derek Jeter, drank beers, got creeped out by the Moose…a perfect evening at Safeco.

Where’s Stella?

Poor thing was scared to death the other night when the fire alarm went off while I was cooking dinner. Couldn’t get her inside for the life of me. She got as far away as she could from the kitchen. Too cute….

Still not sure about going back inside…….

Closer, but still not inside.

Spent the weekend moving plants around. Realized that I need to be a bit more selective in buying flowers – I don’t know what I was thinking when I bought some of these! So not pretty. Finally figured out my sprinkler, which makes watering a bit less painful. I’ve really started to dislike watering…thankfully it hasn’t been too hot. Need to get a few more annuals to fill in the gaps – might need to make another trek to Flower World (better be sure it’s after a pay day though).

Made zucchini bread, had brunch with Katy at George’s and ended the weekend with rosemary-garlic BBQ chicken and tons of roasted veggies. A last minute trip to the grocery store for s’mores supplies topped off the weekend. Not as quick as making them over the camp fire but man, they hit the spot! Yum.
