That’s a wrap.

Wholly balloon!

I’m talkin’ HUGE!

Backstage action.

I finished up my last event of the spring event season this past week by throwing our outgoing CEO a swank retirement party. This was my first time working with jumbo balloons, mammoth letters and being fully behind the scenes to call the program shots. I could totally be a stage manager I tell yah!

Even after 10 years in the biz, I still am learning new things which I totally dig. I’m ready for a little down time but can’t wait to see what will be in store for the fall! High five for event planning!

Weekend in review

It’s been a crazy few weeks around here and work is starting to kick into high gear. I’ve been trying to get in some fun before the Luncheon becomes the all consuming monster it tends to be. Visits with friends, crafts and cross country skiing all topped my list this past weekend.

A little event planner networking event at MOHAI’s new location in the SLU.
Luncheon centerpiece brainstorm.
My first attempt at a diaper cake. Success.
Diaper cake topper. A whale of a tale.
My new fav hobby!

Bday bliss.

Had a lovely, long birthday weekend! I must say, turning 31 is not that exciting UNLESS you treat yourself to a new electronic device AND indulge in your favorite mall dessert – hello Cinnabon! Many thanks to those who participated in my special day šŸ™‚

A Hello Kitty party with the Sugiura ConeCakes (thanks sis!)

A new iPad, Snood and a Cinnabon. Nothing gets better than this!

Southern style potluck
Auntie and her nieces

My sis and I threw my Mom and Dad a southern style birthday potluck over the weekend. Their birthdays are only a few days apart so we thought we’d get the most bang for our buck by combining them. Evites were diligently sent and followed up on, ribs were seasoned and slow cooked and streamers went up by the yard (gosh, I love me some streamers!)

Friends and family showed up en masse and we ate, drank and played ourselves silly with the Sugiura Family Official Game: Cards Against Humanity. *Note: this game is not for the faint of heart, easily offended or morally virtuous person. It is a horribly offensive, mean and disgusting game that is way too ridiculous not to play šŸ™‚

Overall, the evening was a great success! Onto the next family birthday….which is mine!!!
