Loving: That the first part of the event season is behind me. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job, but I’m ready for a lil R&R until things pick back up in the fall!

Reading: Finally got back into checking out e-books from the library and recently downloaded Tell the Wolves I’m Home by Carol Rifka Brunt. OK, so maybe I’m only 30 pages into it, but it still feels good to have something to read! Plus, Oprah recommended it, so you know it’ll be solid.

Watching: The BF’s most recent documentary that he co-produced called “Evergreen: The Road to Legalization” which had it’s world premier at the Seattle International Film Festival this past week. The film shows intimate portraits of players in the 2012 campaign to legalize marijuana in Washington State. So proud of him!

Listening to: The White Arrows – Dry Land is not a Myth. Something a bit pop-ish and not too serious for the bus ride to and from work.

Thinking about: Houses. ALL OF THE FREAKING TIME. This house hunting is all-consuming. The first week was fun and exciting and now it just feels like a chore. And nothing new came on the market this week so it’s now onto the waiting game. We’ll see how long my patience will last……

Surprised by: How rude people can be. I saw a man totally drop a glass of soda at an event (which happened to get on me) and he just looked at me, didn’t apologize and said the caterer should pick that up as he walked away. Dang people. That’s not cool. Where are your manners buddy?

Making me sad: Knowing that I’m going to be moving away from the neighborhood that is very comfortable for me. I grew up in this neck of the woods (Kirkland for those of you who don’t know) and eventually came back to it after college and bought my first place here. I’ve got friends and family all close by and it just works. I can drive 10 minutes in any direction and be at a friend or family member’s house. Being across the lake is really going to change that.

Making me happy: This weather! Thank you Seattle for being in the 70s this week. Keep it up! XO – Leslie

Sew fun no. 2!

Oh man, I think I’m officially addicted to sewing! Now I just need to buy myself one of those fancy machines šŸ™‚ This placemat is the third out of four projects in the series. It involved a bit of quilting and a ton of embroidery, but it came together very easily! I suspect I could pop out 4 in an hour with no problem. There may be some holiday gifts coming your way people! My last class is actually this coming Sunday. I’m extremely tempted to take the beginning quilter’s series next. We’ll see if time allows……

The final piece!

A little up close quilter action.
