I’ve been on nursing duty on and off this past week, helping my Mom recover from her second full knee replacement. Stella and I have been spending a lot of time at her house, which will be a sneak preview of what’s to come when I move in there full time at the beginning of July. The condo has sold, but house hunting in Seattle has been quite difficult – low inventory and lots of competition. Most houses don’t last longer than 2 or 3 days on the market – it’s nuts people! I must admit, I’m not thrilled to be moving home at the age of 31 but living essentially mortgage/bill free and frequent access to puppy sitting might be OK for a bit. I don’t think Stella will mind.
Sis ordering the most expensive item on the menu – black cod.
My usual – the combo.
We hit up the fam favorite Japanese restaurant, Izumi, prior to Dad shoving off to Alaska for the summer fishing season. We’ve been going to this local spot ever since I can remember – and yes, I did only eat the chicken teryaki for the first 15 years of my life. Whatever. It’s the best in town! Make fun of me all you want family. So maybe the food isn’t on the cutting edge of Asian cuisine, but it’s consistently damn good. Can’t get much better than that!
It’s been a crazy few weeks around here and work is starting to kick into high gear. I’ve been trying to get in some fun before the Luncheon becomes the all consuming monster it tends to be. Visits with friends, crafts and cross country skiing all topped my list this past weekend.
A little event planner networking event at MOHAI’s new location in the SLU.
Had a lovely, long birthday weekend! I must say, turning 31 is not that exciting UNLESS you treat yourself to a new electronic device AND indulge in your favorite mall dessert – hello Cinnabon! Many thanks to those who participated in my special day 🙂
A Hello Kitty party with the Sugiura ConeCakes (thanks sis!)
A new iPad, Snood and a Cinnabon. Nothing gets better than this!
